UKCCC Communication Conference in Manchester *save the date* 23&24 March 2023

The UKCCC (UK Council of Clinical Communication) will be hosting it’s bi-annual conference in Manchester on the 23rd and 24th March 2023 at the core technology centre on the University of Manchester Campus [virtual tour].

Based on how creatively we have worked over the last 2 years our theme of this conference is ‘Developing the clinical communication curriculum’ we intend this to be interpreted broadly and encourage everyone to showcase their work/ideas/works in progress.

Day 2 of the conference will focus on the integration of teaching clinical communication and clinical reasoning. We come together with colleagues from CREME to share work and experience.

An informal dinner will take place on the 22nd evening ?(meal funded for UKCCC members).  The conference dinner will be in The Christie Bistro on the evening of the 23rd March

Tickets for UKCCC members:

  • 2 UKCCC members from each medical school will have a complementary 2-day conference ticket and dinner, in addition to a complementary student ticket.
    • The 3 tickets can be used for e.g., 2 staff members and 1 student, or 1 staff member and 2 students.
  • Members will need to arrange for their own travel and accommodation.

Conference fees for attendees:

  • Early bird rate: £100 day rate, £225 for 2 days [inclusive of conference dinner].
  • Full price: £150 day rate, £250 for 2 days.
  • Concession [students, patients, simulated patients] rate: £65 day rate, £130 for 2 days.

To add conference dinner (at The Christie Bistro) onto day rate – £45 per person

Accommodation

Travel lodge upper brook street – closest to the venue [2 minute walk], currently £130 for 2 nights [in conversation for group booking rate]

Hyatt Hotel – booked through University of Manchester with conference ticket – £103 per night. 15 min walk from the venue through the campus, 7 minute walk to conference dinner.

Manchester Oxford road is the closest train station. There are buses from both Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road train station to the venue.

 Abstracts

  • We welcome oral presentations, workshops, symposia, works in progress, innovative arts and technologies, posters, roundtables and debates.
  • The call for abstracts will open from the middle of October.
